Sometimes we feel so alone. We cry and we look for a shoulder to cry on but it seems there’s no one around. No one is available to be there for us. No one wants to listen. No one can understand. We forget that we have a God who’s always with us in good and bad times. Isaiah 41:10 says, ” Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Sometimes we’re too busy crying, worrying, and looking for someone to talk to when Jesus is just waiting for us to talk to him, to call Him. Revelation 3:20, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.” When we acknowledge His presence in our lives…in our troubles, that’s the only time we’ll realize that only Him can comfort us, can give us peace of mind. Matthew 11:28 “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
So, before we look for anything or someone else in times of loneliness and hopelessness, turn to God and He will be with you to comfort you and give you rest. “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort.”
